About Us
Belinda Dan – is a Clinical, Educational and Developmental Psychologist, qualified teacher, and Director of Connecting Kids. Belinda has worked in both primary and secondary school settings as a psychologist for more than 7 years, and has been in private practice for more than 20 years.
Belinda is passionate about working with children and their families to provide individualised support. Belinda enjoys conducting assessments to work out what is going on for the child, and then developing strategies to target their needs, to help them reach their potential.
Belinda loves learning, and believes that learning is a life-long experience. She loves attending professional development, collaborating with colleagues, and learning about more resources that are available. Belinda is also trained to deliver the Cogmed program, which is an evidence-based cognitive training program for anyone who wants to sustainably improve their working memory capacity.
Kaitlyn Owen-Tighe – is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist. Kaitlyn has worked with children and adolescents for more than 10 years in a variety of occupations and settings.
Kaitlyn is enthusiastic about working with children, adolescents, and their families, and is passionate about continuing to develop her skills. She thoroughly enjoys providing support to children and their families through a variety of ways including one-to-one intervention, family work, group programs and assessments. Kaitlyn is flexible in how she delivers support, taking into consideration the individual needs of the child.
Ruby Watkins – studied her Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Monash University. Ruby is passionate about conducting a dynamic range of psychological evaluations, such as cognitive, educational and neurodevelopmental assessments for people of all ages. Ruby endeavours to deliver evidence-based and empathetic care, adopting a scientist-practitioner model.
Kavini Vithana – is a registered Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar who completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at Swinburne University. She has experience working across private practice, school, hospital, and telehealth settings with children, adolescents, adults and families.
Kavini enjoys supporting children, adolescents and their parents/guardians in a warm, collaborative and neurodiversity-affirming way. She values the importance of supporting young people within the broader systems around them, including families, schools and other professionals. Kavini has experience providing individual therapy, parent-child support, group programs and psychological assessments, drawing from evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT and DBT.
Lorinda Harrison – is the Administration Assistant at Connecting Kids. Lorinda’s organisation and administration skills greatly helps our psychologists to focus primarily on their clients, as well as assisting families in determining what options are available.
